The Birth of Gaia
This age of growing ecological concern was the main reason to do this painting.
The centre of the tryptych displays Gaia's birth, born from Chaos (nothingness) and as Chaos receded Gaia evolved into mother earth.
The figure is actually taken from a primeval Venus figure discovered in France, known as the Venus of Laussel, it was created aproximately 25000 years ago, so, an appropriate symbol.
It seemed only right that appropriate Lascaux animals should be there to witness this scene.
The introduction of flowers came through looking at Botticelli's Birth of Venus.
